Akoni Books is a direct-to-consumer product, not a marketplace or a print shop. Every book is generated on demand for one specific child — the story text is written for that child's name, age and chosen theme, and the illustrations are rendered from their uploaded photo so the same character appears on every page. It is not a template book with a name dropped in, and it is not avatar customization from a menu of preset faces.

## Bilingual books

A bilingual edition prints both languages in the same book, so the child hears their heritage language alongside English rather than in a separate edition. Four second languages are currently offered on the create form: **Spanish, French, Portuguese and Mandarin Chinese**. Bilingual books run longer than 35 pages, because each page carries both languages.
