Yes, on a subset of titles — they have a dedicated photo-book category with around 15 books. The photo is used as a photograph. On the classic storybooks it is printed on the first page alongside your dedication: "each time the family reads the book, they’ll see a printed message from you and a photo of the child on the first page." On the search-and-find titles the photo goes into the scenes themselves — "they’ll spot their names and photos on every page". What does not happen is the child being redrawn as an illustrated character; that is the thing Akoni does.

If a grandparent reads only Spanish and the child reads mostly English, one book they can share is a different gift from two books they cannot.

When you want a real photograph of the child in the book rather than a drawing of them.
